Curriculum Vitae - Dr. Marc Eichhorn

Dr. habil. Marc Eichhorn was born in Mannheim, Germany in 1979 and received the Diploma degree in physics from the University of Heidelberg, Germany in 2003, where he worked at the Max-Planck-Institute for Nuclear Physics on high power CO2 lasers and intra-cavity dipole traps for ultracold atoms. In 2005 he received the Dr. rer. nat. degree from the University of Freiburg, Germany for his research on infrared fiber lasers and amplifiers as well as IR chalcogenide lasers. In 2009, he performed his habilitation at the University of Hamburg on quasi-three-level solid-state lasers.  Since 2003  he is with the French-German Research Institute of Saint-Louis ISL. His research interests are in the development and application of high power gas and solid-state lasers and associated  techniques as well as nonlinear optics including optical parametric oscillation. His current research interests are primarily in high power diode-pumped solid-state lasers, heat-capacity lasers, fiber lasers and amplifiers in the near- and mid-infrared as well as nonlinear wavelength conversion for the generation of mid-infrared radiation. Dr. habil. M. Eichhorn is a member of the Optical Society of America (OSA) and the German Physical Society (DPG).
