IPQ at KIT Science Week

During the KIT Science Week on October 8th and 9th, the KIGLIS project partners will present their approaches for the AI-based fiber optic network of future smart cities to the public. Furthermore, a tour through a Telemaxx data center is offered.

In the smart city of the future, wide-area fiber optic networks will serve as the backbone of the telecommunication infrastructure. At peak times, they will have to transmit immense amounts of data from different applications in short time. In addition, the costs for the network expansion should be as low as possible. To meet these requirements, the KIGLIS project will find new concepts for planning, using, and utilizing network infrastructures with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).
