The 27th edition of this prestigious ITG-Fachtagung brought together researchers and industry experts from across Europe to discuss recent advances in optical communication systems and photonic network architectures. This recognition highlights the excellent quality of research conducted by early-career scientists at the institute and underscores IPQ's commitment to fostering academic excellence in photonics education.

The award-winning poster presents advanced work on the modelling of a sub-THz antenna based on two cascaded lenses using Gaussian beam optics and ABCD-matrix methods. The research includes comprehensive experimental validation of the theoretical model, demonstrating excellent agreement between simulation and measurement results. This contribution is particularly relevant for the development of future high-frequency communication systems and supports ongoing research efforts in next generation wireless communication technologies at IPQ. The successful combination of theoretical modelling and experimental verification perfectly exemplifies the institute's approach to bridging the gap between fundamental physical principles and practical engineering applications.
